How to write a good personal ad
Write a clear, honest introduction for local dating or hookups without oversharing.
Say what you are looking for
Choose a category that fits your intentions, then describe the connection you want in plain language. Mention two or three genuine interests and what you would enjoy doing together. Keep expectations respectful: nobody owes you a reply or a meeting.
Make the introduction specific
A title such as ‘Coffee and conversation with another book lover’ tells someone more than ‘Hey’. Explain a little about your interests, availability and general area. Do not include a home address, workplace, account email or financial information.
Use accurate photos and contact details
Use your own current, non-nude photos. New ads require a complete phone number that is displayed publicly, so use a number you are comfortable sharing. An existing ad may retain its older contact settings. Check the preview and correct mistakes before posting.
Stay within the rules
You must be 18 or older. Dating and hookups must be between consenting adults; offers of sex or companionship for money, gifts or anything of value are not allowed. Do not use an ad to request donations, deposits or hourly payments.
